Why we're publishing notes, and why there's no schedule

What this is. Notes are short posts about AI in K-12 schools. Each one exists because something happened that a teacher, principal, or student is likely to ask about: a state changes a computer science or AI requirement, an education department issues guidance, a tool students use changes its rules, or a study lands that parents will bring up at conference night.

What it isn't. There's no weekly schedule. A fixed cadence turns into filler, and you have enough to read. If nothing worth your time happened, we don't publish. When we do, every note says what happened, why it matters in a classroom, what we don't know yet, and one thing you could try this week. Facts link to their primary source, the bill or the guidance document itself where we can, so you can check them.

Who writes it. People, not a feed. We may use tools to spot candidate news, but a person reads the source, writes the note, and decides whether it's worth publishing. When we link to Schoolhouse material, it's because it's directly useful for that note, not to fill space.

How to follow along. Subscribe to the RSS feed on the notes page, or check back when you hear about a change. We'd rather hear from you than guess, so every note ends with a question. Reply by email and tell us what's happening where you teach.

Try this week

Think of one AI question a student, parent, or colleague asked you this month that you didn't have a good answer for, and send it to us.

Tell us

What AI change in your school or state do you wish someone would explain plainly?
