Sole-source justification

If your division requires a sole-source or limited-competition justification, the following points support that determination for From Sand to Agents — K-12 Artificial Intelligence:

  • The only K-12 AI curriculum in Virginia mapped to VA CS SOL and VDOE AI Guidance at the source-file level — alignment is automatically derived, not hand-maintained.
  • Coverage spans grades K-2 through 6-8 in a single spiraled throughline; no equivalent vertical AI curriculum from another vendor currently covers this range for Virginia standards.
  • Every unit ships with teacher guide, student lesson, assessment with rubric, differentiation and access notes (IEP/504/ELL), vocabulary, printable materials, and a family letter — purpose-built for non-specialist teachers.
  • An annual July content refresh cycle ensures compliance with the VDOE AI Guidance revisions without requiring districts to re-procure.

We can provide a signed, formatted sole-source justification letter on your division’s letterhead template on request. Contact us →

Funding pathways

Most Virginia divisions fund this curriculum through an existing line item. Common pathways:

  • Title IV-A — Well-rounded education & effective use of technology
  • Title I — Supplemental instruction in high-need schools
  • Perkins V (CTE) — Career & technical education (secondary bands)
  • Local CS / innovation grants — State and regional computer-science funds
  • Education foundations — PTO and local foundation grants

We can help you match the curriculum to the right pathway and draft budget-justification language. Not legal or financial advice.
