What to teach in Grade 8

Start at Unit 1. Grade 8 runs the fullest version of the band, including the hidden-layer build in Unit 3 and the full ethics analysis in Unit 5. This is the strongest single-year sequence in the curriculum as currently authored. Close on Unit 6, where students name a real route into a field (8.IC.3) — it lands hardest at the end of Grade 8, when course choices are imminent.
